    The Shortage Of Labour In PRD Enterprises Remains Serious.

    Liu Zhanhao, vice chairman of the Hongkong Federation of industry and chairman of the Zhujiang Delta Association, 10, said that the labour shortage problem faced by the Hong Kong funded enterprises in the PRD is still serious.

    In a survey conducted by the industry, 13% responded to the labor shortage by half or more.


    In view of the current employment situation, the Hongkong Federation of industry conducted a questionnaire survey among members between 18 and 30 June, and 61 valid questionnaires were collected.

    The chief executive also held a meeting in June 24th to invite members and members of the Pearl River Delta industrial association to attend and listen to and collect members' opinions and gather reports.


    According to the survey results, the problem of shortage of workers in the PRD has been troubling Hong Kong businessmen. 80% of the enterprises have encountered the problem of lack of jobs, partly indicating that the situation has not improved since the beginning of the year.

    Among them, about 30% of the total number of workers who were short of work accounted for 43% of the total response enterprises, indicating that 13% or more workers were short of work, indicating that the shortage of workers was very serious.


    In response to the questionnaire, 15% of the enterprises said there was a labor movement in their factories.


    Liu Zhanhao, 10, said at a press conference that labor costs in individual industries such as jewellery, metal processing products, wood products and furniture and clocks accounted for a higher proportion of total production costs, and were most affected by the sharp increase in labor costs.

    If the cost can not be pferred to the buyer, and the cost can not be reduced in other production links, the prospect of the enterprise is worrying.


    Liu Zhanhao said that in the face of the shortage of workers and the sharp rise in wages, the coping strategies of Hong Kong businessmen are mainly to reduce the employment needs and create higher priced products.

    The survey found that nearly 70% of enterprises indicated that they would gradually automate production and replace machines with machinery.

    The pressure of labor costs also forces Hong Kong businessmen to adopt technology and innovation, build brands, extend their products to the higher end of the value chain, and seek new advantages.


    He said that although some enterprises had the intention to move, the overall response was less than 20%. The enterprises considered moving away from the Pearl River Delta region to other provinces or central and western regions, while considering the move from mainland China to Southeast Asia less than 10%.

    "The reason for this is that enterprises believe that many industrial pfer sites have large defects in infrastructure facilities, logistics costs, industrial chains, and so on, and the willingness and feasibility of enterprises to move and move are relatively low."
