Tunisia Textile And Apparel Industry Showed Strong Recovery Momentum

Textile Technology Center released the latest statistical report 12, indicating that in the first 7 months of this year, exports of textiles and garments in Tunisia increased by 8.3% and exports increased by 5.6%, indicating that Tunisia's textile and clothing industry has been out of the shadow of the international financial crisis and showing strong recovery momentum.
The report also shows that in July alone, Tunisia's total exports of textiles and clothing amounted to 506 million DAL (1 US dollars, or 1.4375 DAL), an increase of 10.8% over the same period last year and a total import of 300 million Dal, an increase of 17.9% over the same period last year.

Clothing maintained its strongest growth momentum. In July, the volume of exports increased by 14.7% over the same period last year, and exports increased by 10.3%.
Followed by a series of ready-made garments, the number of exports increased by 7.5%, and the volume of exports increased by 8.7%.
Textile and apparel is an important pillar industry in Tunisia.
National industrial output value
37%, exports account for about 36% of the total number of industrial products exported to the whole country, and employment accounts for about 40% of the total number of industrial workers in the country.
Affected by the international financial crisis, Tunisia's textile and clothing exports decreased by 8.8% in 2009, and imports dropped by 8.3%.
