Convening International Conference On Clothing Size Series And Code Names

　 A few days ago, the sixth ISO/TC133 Clothing size Series and code international standard meeting was held in Changshu. This is the first international conference of China's apparel industry to participate in ISO/TC133. It is also the first International Conference on garment standardization in China.

The meeting was co sponsored by the National Standardization Management Committee, the Jiangsu provincial quality and Technical Supervision Bureau and the Bosideng Limited by Share Ltd. 16 representatives from five countries, including South Africa, Japan, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, attended the meeting.

The full name of ISO/TC133 is "Sizingsystemsanddesignationsforclothes", which is the clothing size series and Code Committee. Its responsibility is to design the clothing size system through the size system obtained by human body measurement, and the representative body is the SABS. Since the beginning of 2007, under the joint efforts of the National Standardization Management Committee, the China clothing association, the national garment Standardization Technical Committee Secretariat (Shanghai Clothing Research Institute), and Bosideng Limited by Share Ltd and many other garment enterprises, after many times cooperating with the South African Secretariat, the sixth ISO/TC133 clothing size series and code international standard meeting was held in China.

China Delegation The important speech at the conference promoted the restart of the work of the ISO/TC133 Committee, indicating that the standardization of Chinese clothing has entered the process of internationalization. China has begun to master the right to speak in international standardization activities.

At the meeting, representatives of various countries discussed the revision of ISO/TC133 related standards. The resolutions adopted by this conference include the joint commitment of the ISO /TC133 Secretariat by the South African Standard Bureau and the China National Standardization Management Committee. China is responsible for contacting the European CENTC248 regional standards organization to negotiate the size standards. Within two months, a working committee composed of China and South Africa has been set up to implement BP, to establish 16 resolutions, including China, chaired by Korea, Japan and South Africa, to revise ISO8559.

The meeting was confirmed by China and South Africa in the form of "Joint Secretariat". ISO/TC133 The Secretariat will work and will make amendments to relevant international standards. This is a historic breakthrough in China's garment industry in the international standardization work, and also a major leap in the development of China's garment industry.

According to the insiders, the successful convening of this conference is an important starting point for "made in China" into "China creation". It will promote China to gradually become the international standard maker from the adoption and implementation of international standards, grasp the international discourse power, enhance China's international production and trade status, and play a positive role in promoting the quality and international competitiveness of China's clothing products.
