According to the announcement issued by the municipal development and Reform Commission,

Post competition reconstruction project (phase I) includes construction of the Olympic torch removal and installation, temporary media comprehensive rebroadcast area (BOB area) pformation, construction of the steel structure sightseeing corridor over the past, pformation of mobile lawn storage area, toilet renovation, landscape base lawn fence renovation and electrical engineering pformation.
The total investment of the project is estimated at 104 million 250 thousand yuan, which is all raised by the National Stadium company.
After the bird's nest renovation project (phase I) is completed, the Olympic torch tower will be demolished and moved to the South East corner of the bird's nest warm-up stadium for permanent standing.
The pformed bird's nest will become a large comprehensive gymnasium that meets the requirements of large-scale international athletics and football matches, and also provides tourism, convention and exhibition, catering and cultural services.
The air corridor overlooks the bird's nest.
It is also understood that the original structure of the steel frame left after the main torch is removed will be pformed into an aerial viewing platform.
After the corridor is completed, visitors can climb to the top of the bird's nest steel structure and shuttle to the 18 meter high steel structure, overlooking the panoramic view of the bird's nest and the majority of the Olympic Park landscape Avenue.
