Kim Jones Leaves Dunhill
Kim Jones will resign as creative director of Alfred Dunhill. He has worked in this project for two and a half years.
Jones became the first creative director of Dunhill in February 2008, and he formed a creative team during his tenure, and offered classic menswear design to young customers.
His last series is the spring series of 2011, which will be exhibited in Paris in January next year. Dunhill spokesman also confirmed that Kim Jones will work until 2011.
Previously, Dunhill hired Jones to consider that Jones, which has been designing fashionable Street Series for young people, can bring fashionable young consumption to the company. After being a creative director, Jones improved cutting and joined sports elements, and indeed established a brand image among young people. Over the past two years, Dunhill's global sales have maintained a two digit growth.
"Kim has made valuable contributions to the company's innovation and development in the past two and a half years," said Christopher Colfer, chief executive of Alfred Dunhill. His works are of high commercial value and are greatly appreciated by consumers. Therefore, we feel very sorry for his resignation. But his departure coincides well with the company's original planning and brand strategy.
The spokesman said there is no plan to replace Jones, and his creative team will continue to serve the brand. Jones said, "I want to thank all of Dunhill for giving me everything, especially my friends from the creative team, and I look forward to releasing my new book and design works soon."
