Make Your Own Clothes -- Interview With Designer He Yan

He Yan, a man born in a tailor's family, may be born to be bound with clothes. From the conversation with her, she could feel strongly that she was a very strong minded person. Maybe it was for this reason that her clothes always had their own brand. During her 6 years of design and entrepreneurship, she sometimes replaced friends in life with her professional models, which made her fashion show more lifeless and artistic. To do her own things is the greatest feeling she gives me, but this kind of self is not a closed door, but a kind of idea and an ideal of her own.

Q: can you introduce yourself?

A: 99 years after I graduated from Wuxi light industry university, I came to Shanghai. After 4 years of life, I experienced the life of designers who worked for 4 years. I began to publish design works in my personal name in 2004, and I began to sell the design from the beginning. My development has benefited from this fashion environment which needs the same local design power and unprecedented dryness. The biggest resistance comes from the lack of marketing channels and the lack of resources. The traditional marketing mode costs too much and the internal friction is too high. It does not apply to our individual designers or studios. I am satisfied with the current operating conditions of the studio. I began to transform from tailoring to ready-made clothes this year and began to work with some retail outlets selectively. The next step is to open a special store. My requirement for my design is to make progress every year, and the standard of assessment is also set by myself. Of course, feedback from friends or guests is also an important indicator. I like to keep low cost, invite friends to guest models, choose suitable venues for exhibitions, and cooperate with retail outlets for sale. I think it's very important for an independent designer to enjoy himself, so it's not easy to give up when facing difficulties and setbacks. My expectations for myself are: broaden our horizons and open our hearts. Design is not only about beauty, but also finding objects and goals that we care about and designing for a better future.

Q: you have published so many years of work. Which season is the most satisfying?

Answer: 06 years of "female shape" bar. This is the most perfect one of all my shows. There are many clothes and full preparations. The whole process is quite complete.

Q: what is the inspiration for this 2010 CCDC Chinese fashion design invitational tournament?

Answer: from "Republic of China Man". I was fascinated by people and things in that era and wanted to make a series to express this emotion.

Q: can you talk about the sales status of the brand? What are the future development plans of the two parts of the country and abroad?

A: at present, it is only sold in Beijing and Shanghai, and is cooperating with some retail stores. The sales performance is just good enough for the studio to run. The future planning is still under consideration.

Q: it seems that you have been a designer all the time, but you don't seem to be very keen on opening up shop. But in fact, every designer needs a backing. What do you think? What about the comprehensive genius of Tom Ford's design and business?

A: Tom Ford can only be envied, but I am sure I can not. I also want to be a versatile person, but as a designer, I must make sure that clothes are done first. I am also working hard to learn how to run a brand. I am also considering and trying to cooperate with others.

Q: for the vast number of Internet readers, designers are a very magical profession. Can you simply say how you spend your typical day?

Answer: I do not work regularly. I get up at 7 in the morning, or do yoga or watch TV. Sometimes I go to the fabric market, sometimes I go to the factory to communicate and produce, sometimes I make plate making at home. Usually only when the new product is released, will it work intensively.

Q: what do you think is the trend of next season? How do designers integrate these international trends into their own works?

A: I don't know what's going on next season. It is said to be nude. I will still grasp the popularity according to my own preferences and intuition, and then use them under the choice of their own design topics.

Q: who is your favorite designer?

A: Muccia Prada, she gives us some small surprises every year, but the whole style is very good.

Q: you seem to like Prada very much. Do you have any favorite designers in China?

Answer: Wang Yiyang, in fact, Chinese designers are developing and growing, so there is no progress in terms of who is good or who is not good.

Q: from a designer's point of view, can you recommend it to users? What do you think is the most worthwhile product this season?

Answer: a dress with straight lines and short length.

Q: now many people are looking forward to or are working hard towards a designer's dream. Can you share with them what you should have if you want to be a fashion designer?

Answer: sensitive heart, fastidious eye for beauty.
