Jin Ziwei, a 25 year old man from Shenyang, Liaoning, won twenty-ninth gold medals for the Chinese delegation in the women's four person oars competition of the Beijing Olympic Games.

This is the first gold medal that Chinese rowing and even Asian Rowing won in the Olympic Games.

Zhang Lin, the swimmer who broke the world's 800 meter freestyle world record and won the World Championships last year, is the most likely flag bearer chosen by the outside world.
