Chen Ping: first of all, I would like to introduce briefly that firefighters' fire-fighting protective clothing is made up of four layers, namely, outer layer, waterproof and breathable layer, heat insulation layer and inside.

According to the standards of firefighters' protective clothing for fire fighting, the standard of domestic fire-fighting clothing is very close to the European standard.

For the materials currently used, the two layers of outer materials and insulation materials have reached the international standard level. In particular, some enterprises and the fire brigade adopt the materials NOMEXIIIA produced by the US DuPont Co, and are also widely used materials for foreign fire services.

However, due to price reasons, we still have a long way to go from the international advanced level.

The waterproof layer and the inner layer have yet to be improved, and the relevant departments of the state are also revising the standards, with a view to better protect firemen.

Reporter: what materials are used for domestic fire-fighting clothing? What is the protective effect?

Chen Ping: as mentioned above, the outer layer is mainly based on the NOMEXIIIA of DuPont Co in the United States, and the domestic aramid fiber also has a certain proportion in the market.

The insulation layer is mainly made of DuPont NOMEX and KEVALR spunlace felt.

It has reached the standards of international similar products in terms of flame retardancy, heat insulation, light weight and thermal stability.

The waterproof and breathable layer is mainly made of domestic PTFE. In the past few years, its washability has always been a serious problem. Once damaged, the entire fire-fighting clothing will be soaked. No matter the fabric or the thermal insulation layer, it will absorb a lot of water. The weight of the whole garment will increase greatly, and the firepower will be severely affected.

In the summer of 2009, the National Fire Bureau Inspection Center revised the standards. At present, the new PTFE has been greatly improved in water washing.

In Europe or the United States standard, the lining fabric is usually a permanent flame retardant material. At present, our standard has not yet made the request, but this index will also be improved soon.

In the rescue of this accident, the Shanghai Fire Bureau adopted the products of Shanghai Clothing Group Import and export company. From protecting the face of the flame retardant hood to protecting the whole body of the fire fighting uniform, the NOMEX IIIA material was used directly to the fire source fabric.

It should be said that the fire protection clothing in this rescue has greatly protected the safety of the rescuers.

Accidents such as burns, burns and other accidents that may be caused by improper personal protective equipment are avoided.

Reporter: with the continuous improvement of requirements, what kind of innovation will there be in the development of technology and function of fire-fighting clothing? What are the difficulties?

Chen Ping: with the development and progress of social economy, fire protection, especially in big cities, will be more arduous and severe. The fire protection clothing will develop towards higher protection level, lighter material and more stable protection performance.

In terms of innovation, on the one hand, we can directly adopt advanced international raw materials for deep development, so that the basic guarantee is synchronized with the international leading level. At the same time, we will also expect the domestic raw material industry to shorten the gap with the advanced international level, so that the latest scientific and technological achievements can be applied to the fire industry with the least cost.

Reporter: as an enterprise, how do you view the market prospect of fire fighting clothing?

Chen Ping: with the increasing awareness of people's safety, the total consumption of fire-fighting clothing in the world is increasing year by year, and new materials are emerging constantly, and the government is also constantly supporting efforts.

Over the years, the standard of fire service in our country has been greatly improved, arousing people's attention to personal protection. The state and local governments at all levels increase their personal protective investment year by year, but there is still room for improvement in quantity and quality compared with the ratio of foreign developed countries.

Reporter: what are the bottlenecks and difficulties faced by domestic fire service enterprises?

Chen Ping: homogenization of products leads to fierce competition in prices and low profits.

It makes it difficult for domestic fire enterprises to adopt better materials, and also affects the enthusiasm of fire service enterprises in developing new products.

The requirements of firefighting troops and relevant management departments on fire-fighting clothing will largely affect or guide the development of our country's fire-fighting clothing and the development of fire service production enterprises.
