At the age of 12, he enrolled in the youth class of University of Science and Technology of China. He received the doctorate degree from George, University of Washington at the age of 23. At the age of 31, he became the youngest academician of the IEEE (American Institute of electrical and Electronics Engineers). At the age of 33, he returned to work with Microsoft to set up the Microsoft China Research Institute, and he held the Microsoft Asia Research Institute at the age of 34. He was promoted to the global vice president of Microsoft at the age of 38. He had more than 60 patents and published more than 500 academic papers and monograph.
