With a smile on the face, the shopping guide could not restrain the excitement. "Although there are no discounts, there are more and more people coming to buy it."

The astonishing purchasing power of Chinese consumers has attracted more and more western brands to become the battleground of luxury brands in all countries.

The luxury goods supplier survey released by consulting company Bain recently revealed that luxury goods suppliers took 68 billion 400 million yuan from the Chinese Pocket last year.

      Expenses

buy Luxury goods Chinese spend 68 billion 400 million yuan a year.

The report said global luxury sales fell 8% last year, but both luxury sales and profits surged in 2010. The revival of European luxury sales has largely benefited from the entry of European travelers, who have been shopping with the opportunity to depreciate the euro. The euro fell to its lowest level in four years in June.

Italy jeweler Bvlgari CEO In particular, Francisco Transpani pointed out that Chinese consumers are "a big factor" to boost their sales in the third quarter of Europe by 11%.

In addition, the growth of China's domestic luxury market began to accelerate from the second half of 2009, and the annual market size reached 68 billion 400 million yuan. And the report points out that strong market growth indicates that the domestic luxury market outlook is still improving in 2010, and the annual growth rate is expected to reach about 23%.

       classification

Cosmetics and watches are most popular among Chinese people.

According to the Bain survey, the biggest luxury items in China are cosmetics, perfume and personal care products. The Chinese spend 16 billion 900 million yuan on these three items. The top second is watches, which cost a total of 15 billion 500 million yuan. The sale of luxury watches is expected to increase by 1/3 in 2010.

Bain surveyed 1471 luxury consumers in more than ten cities in China, who listed Rolex, OMEGA and Cartire as the three most likely watch brands to buy.

Why are watches so attractive to Chinese luxury consumers? Watches have an especially attractive aspect, that is, most Chinese people think that watches are suitable gifts for people.

Besides, watches seem to be an item that men should have. A spokesman for Bain said that China is a male dominated market, and male consumers purchase more watches than women.

      trend

Online shopping is becoming more and more young.

    change

Chinese people love to go abroad for shopping.

Although luxury goods companies have mostly expanded their retail businesses in China, this year, Chinese consumers are obviously more competitive in Europe. According to the report, 56% of Chinese consumers buy luxury goods abroad, such as jewellery and watches, and only 44% of them buy cosmetics, such as cosmetics.

According to the analysis, wealthy Chinese consumers go to Europe because the price of luxury goods in China is higher than that in Europe, or there is no European style. The sales figures of all the big shots also prove this point.

About 30% of London's total sales are from Chinese tourists, Burberry said. LV said its products sold in China are 35% higher than the average in France. GUCCI also said that from 1 to September this year, the number of Chinese tourists has nearly doubled compared with the same period last year, accounting for almost 22% of the company's European sales.

    Expert opinion

Don't give the latest model to buy abroad.

Ouyang Kun, the chief representative of the China Representative Office of the World Luxury Association, told reporters that under the environment of RMB appreciation and domestic inflation, the Chinese took the renminbi to spend overseas, which was equivalent to a discount.

Ouyang Kun believes that at present, Europe has become more and more aware of the importance of China's new consumer market. They expect Chinese consumers to save the global economy, but they do not give Chinese brands the latest style. If you want to buy a new model, you have to come to Europe. It is both practical and selective.

Overseas spree fever is only temporary.

However, Ouyang Kun is worried that more and more people are going to buy luxury goods from abroad. Once foreign consumption becomes a habit, it will gradually become dependent, and will have a psychological conflict with domestic consumption and pose a threat to China's related industries.

Will there be a long-term upward trend for Chinese consumers to go abroad to sweep goods? Ouyang Kun thinks it is an upward trend, but it is only temporary. As the state is now regulating inflation through raising interest rates, customs authorities have also issued tariff policies one after another to restrict purchases of luxury goods by outbound travel.

Once Chinese consumers feel that spending money abroad is not cost-effective, they will also have to pay high tariffs if they go through customs. A group of luxury consumers, such as white-collar workers and college students, will abandon Europe and fight for domestic transactions.
