The standard of GH/T1068-2010 "cotton packing polyester strapping belt" drafted by the cotton processing branch, the China national supply and Marketing Cooperative head office, Zhengzhou cotton and flax Engineering Technology Design Institute, the China reserve cotton management corporation and Zhengzhou commodity exchange and other units, after three years of repeated recognition and continuous improvement, and many times seeking expert advice from the industry, has been approved by experts and will be formally promulgated and implemented in March 1, 2011.

The main technical parameters of the quality inspection system reform project have been included in the GB6975-2007 cotton packaging national standard.

Because the national standard of GB6975-2007 cotton packaging was introduced at the early stage of forming new cotton packaging materials, its parameters were incomplete and relatively general, leading to the fact that the strapping belt met the national standards but could not meet the actual requirements of cotton packaging, and it brought difficulty to the detection and identification of individual labels of packaging materials.

The reform of cotton packing package and packaging materials is an important part of the reform of cotton quality inspection system in China. It is also a key link in cotton logistics technology, and the technical standard of cotton baling material has a direct impact on the quality and safety of cotton packaging, pportation, storage and Industrial cotton.

Therefore, in a sense, the quality of cotton baling materials is related to the deepening and benign development of the cotton quality inspection system reform.

On the basis of reference to the technical requirements of GB6975-2007 cotton packaging and GB/T22344-2008 "packaging polyester strapping belt" and the similar packaging materials of the US cotton, the standard further clarified and improved the technical indicators, and made clear the technical requirements and related inspection methods for the joint mode, the breaking force, the longitudinal cracking property and the peel off force of the polyester strapping belt for cotton packing, so as to solve the technical problems that the existing indexes in the national standard of the binding band can not meet the actual packaging requirements of cotton.

The formulation and promulgation of the industrial standard for cotton packing polyester strapping belt will help standardize the cotton packaging and binding materials market, promote the sustainable and healthy development of the new cotton packaging industry, reduce the occurrence of cotton collapsing and unloading in pportation and storage, guarantee the quality and safety of cotton, help consolidate the early results of the cotton quality inspection system reform, and promote the deepening and development of the cotton quality system reform, and will play an active role in all aspects of cotton processing, pportation, storage and export in China.
