    Study On Adhesive Weaving

    Waterproof and Moisture Permeable Fabric, also known as waterproof breathable fabric, is also known as "respirable fabric" (Waterproof, Windproof, and Breathable Fabric) in foreign countries. It is a unique functional fabric with waterproof, moisture permeable, windproof and thermal insulation properties.


    This fabric can not only meet the needs of wearing in harsh environments such as freezing rain, snow or windy weather, such as winter.

    Generally, the coating of waterproof and moisture permeable fabric can be divided into hydrophilic PU, micro porous PU and PTFE.

    The waterproof and moisture permeation mechanism of fabrics can be divided into physical moisture permeability and moisture permeability.

    Physical moisture permeability is as follows: 1) make use of the difference between the smallest diameter of water droplet and the diameter of water vapor and pore, that is to say, the pore size of fabric weft interweave or fabric composite material is between the smallest diameter of water droplet and the diameter of water vapor, so as to achieve the purpose of waterproof and moisture permeability; 2) the pore size of polymer film and fabric are combined, and the pore size of membrane pore (about 1 nm in diameter) is between water droplet and moisture diameter, which endows fabric with waterproof and moisture permeating function.

    Functional moisture permeation is as follows: 1) using the hydrophilic group of polymer membrane as the step stone of water vapor molecules, water molecules adsorb water molecules on the high humidity side due to hydrogen bonding and other intermolecular forces, and pass through the hydrophilic group on the polymer chain to desorption at low humidity side to form the "adsorption diffusion diffusion desorption process" to achieve the purpose of moisture permeability; 2) use the characteristics of shape memory polymer to achieve waterproof and moisture permeating function.

    When the shape memory polymer is in the glass pition temperature (Tg) region, due to the micro Brown motion of the molecular chain, the moisture permeability will have a qualitative mutation.

    This shows that its moisture permeability changes with the change of external temperature, that is, intelligent function, especially human skin, can change with the change of temperature and humidity.

    1.1 experimental method


    GB/T12704.1 - 2009 and

    GB

    /T12704.2 – 2009 stipulates that the steam quality of the specimen passing through the unit area in a specified time is the moisture permeability rate (WVT) when the temperature and humidity conditions are kept on both sides of the sample.


    There are many measuring methods for moisture permeability of waterproof and moisture permeable fabrics. In this paper, four factors including GB/T12704.1 - 2009 hygroscopic method, GB/T12704.2 - 2009 evaporation method, ASTM E96 - 2005 E method and BW method are used to analyze the effect of different base cloth and coating type on moisture permeability of fabrics.
