    Designer Or Artist?

    2010/12/24 9:14:00 32

    Designer Artist

    even if it is

    Design

The most pure style, the least love of market factors.

    Fashion Designer

They all do not necessarily regard themselves as artists.

Art is art, and the domain of advanced intellectuals is not market oriented.

    fashion

To satisfy people's vanity of beauty and luxury.

However, this argument of purists seems to be increasingly untenable today.

At the beginning of this year

    London

    New opening of Bond Street

    Louis Vuitton

    Flagship store, placed

    Michael Landy

The dynamic sculpture, the Damien Hirst design printing kit, and the handbag designed by Murakami Takashi, once again show off how well the two different areas of fashion and art are mutually beneficial.

Take a look at the number of the most creative contemporary art in the century sponsored by the Prada foundation in Milan.

Muccia Prada and her husband PatrizioBertelli are soberly aware that if fashion is important in modern society, good works of art are even more difficult.

The combination of the two will be greatly promoted to the outside world.

    brand

    Strength and status.

    Art circles and

    fashion

The mutual exploration among people is becoming more frequent and thorough.

Because of this, the exhibition is being held at Royal College of Art, England, which is called "consciousness: the dual status of fashion and art".

It focuses on the performance of contemporary artists in the fashion industry, as well as some of the masterpieces of designers who make fashion as artworks, from self portrait of American female photographer and artist Cindy Sherman to Gillian Wearing's uniforms of police uniform.

The exhibition has at least produced such a powerful fact that cross-border cooperation between fashion and art is not just a product of consumer society.

Take the British artist Grayson Perry as an example. In 2004, his "artist Robe" created a great sensation and opened a precedent for cross-border cooperation in the two fields.

From his disguised "Claire", he became the classic image of fashion circles.

Those who pretended to be fashionable in the art circle were all arrogant because of his works. The reason is evident from his work BoringCool People.

And in his The Walthamstow Tapestry, which was exhibited in London in 2009, he satirize the fashion victims with the image of "Madonna holding a Chanel2.55 bag and wrapped in a scarf of Hermes".

Grayson said: "perhaps Madonna himself knows that after the pleasure of consumption has passed, the heart is actually deserted."

As Edith Devaney, an assistant curator, said, "this exhibition is rooted in the artistic exploration of contemporary social roles of many contemporary artists.

Their creative subjects are not restricted, and there are various forms of media.

In the past, artists did not dare to make any breakthrough in the use of media.

Now, cross-border creation is very common. "

Today's fashion designers are also playing the art of fashion creation.

Helen Storey is such an artist and scientist fashion designer.

Her latest works are hand-made skirts, which are made of enzymes, which are water-soluble. She calls this characteristic "self destruct" of fabrics.

Not long ago, she hung these extremely fragile but exceptionally beautiful skirts on the gallows, and then slowly immersed them in the water to decompose them, and explained: "this is an artistic metaphor, which enables us to focus on such a question: Why are there many obstacles in the fashion industry's exploration and resolution of many problems in many industries? Fashion is an important force in contemporary social communication.

I spent three years making these dresses and dissolving them in 15 seconds, hoping to get the public's attention and open a topic on how to use increasingly scarce resources in the future.

What is more important than solving the above problem at once?

Looking back to the mid 1990s, the British art movement is still in its infancy, but with the rise of British rock music, two young fashion designers, Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen, have brought the whole world down.

Compared to the regular T release, their press conference is more like installation art exhibition, and this is not only a marketing tool for the crowd, but also a clear stand of the designer's personal style.

In their fashion view, the theme of fashion design should focus on contemporary cultural topics, not just about the colors or skirts that are popular in the next quarter.

Chalayan said: "in the mid 90s of last century, McQueen and I were very tired of the design at that time, so I decided to open up another path.

It's a wonderful time for new energy and new things to flourish.

Today, apart from releasing two women's clothing series every year in Paris fashion week, Chalayan also sells limited devices, films and sculptures to the world's collectors as an outstanding artist.

At the beginning of this year, Chalayan told the independent newspaper: "I may study art all the time.

Early art learning has a very important influence on my way of thinking.

Saint Martin institutes in that year were much more open than today.

Although I am learning fashion design, students from different departments are mixed up and run around the studio. I feel like I am actually studying in art school.

Devaney evaluated Chalayan in this way: "he is a leader in fashion designers. His way of thinking and originality are comparable to artists.

He has very complicated ideas, and in his works you can clearly see the thinking thread of constructing these thoughts.

The traditional Japanese ceremony is the inspiration for the spring and summer series in Chalayan2011, and his long skirt designed for this exhibition is inspired by the traditional Japanese puppet show in 300 years.

Compared with the garment series, the design of this long skirt has less consideration of market factors and practicability, and is more artistic.

The design of McQueen is also deeply influenced by contemporary art. It widely takes the lead of artists such as MarcQuinn, Joel-Peter Witkin, Sam Taylor-Wood, theChapman Brothers, etc., and has worked with the latter two for many times.

The last series of his life was his most painful run in art and fashion.

He referred to some of his masterpieces, including Hieronymus Bosch, Hugo van der Goes and Jean Fouquet.

Digital printing technology recreates GrinlingGibbons's Gothic wood carving and Byzantine gorgeous images on cloth, and Mcqueen uses this fabric to weave exquisite costumes.

McQueen is also an excellent acting artist. This exhibition will focus on how behavioral art affects his fashion design.

The best manifestation of this is his 1998 autumn and winter series "Joan".

With the crackling of the flames, the models walked on the lava shaped T platform, passing through the fire ring.

McQueen is obsessed with art collections. He once said, "I combine classical art with modern art, blending the works of masters of Flemish painting, works of Chapman Brothers and works of Sam Taylor-Wood."

So, does he regard himself as an artist? Although people have already given him such a high hat, his view is very pragmatic: "I always agree with the idea of British art. First, set up a concept and popularize it to a degree that more people can accept.

But I also like to make clothes for people, and I hope that the clothes I designed are worn by people.

The British Developed Anti Underwear Briefs Made Of Silk Fabrics.

According to foreign media reports, British scientists recently developed a high-tech anti - explosive underpants for British troops stationed in Afghanistan. This anti explosion underpants can resist minor explosions and prevent bomb fragments from damaging the lower body. Because the underwear can play a good role in protecting the male soldiers' body in the battlefield, it is also called "Bomb shading cloth".
