In 2008, affected by the world financial crisis, the market of cocoon silk fell to the lowest level in history. In 2010, when the drought happened in a hundred years, more than 70% of the mulberry trees in the county were affected.

In the course of wind and waves, the sericultural industry in Ningnan has been pformed into a dangerous machine for 10 years. It has been awarded five indicators of "cocoon production, silkworm production, cocoon production and silkworm income".

However, in recent years, the brilliant achievements of Ningnan sericulture industry still reflect problems such as short chain of industrial development, low level, low efficiency and so on.

These brand names, which are ringing in Sichuan and even the whole country, bring the market opportunities to the silkworm industry in the south of Ningxia.

In recent years, silkworm production in Guangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other main sericulture areas has decreased significantly, while Ningnan County's rich resources and brand will surely occupy a favorable position and develop space in the new round of industrial pfer marked by sericulture industry.

The key to seize the initiative is to lay a solid foundation for industry.

Ningnan County Party committee and county government put forward to push the sericulture industry to concentrate on the superior area with an elevation of less than 1300 meters, and take the development of "6215" wide narrow rows of Interplanting mulberry garden as the breakthrough point, and implement the strategy of industrial structure adjustment.

Practice has proved that the "6215" interplanting mulberry garden has high land utilization rate and comprehensive benefits, and the comprehensive benefit of mu yield can reach more than 10 thousand yuan, which can greatly increase income and fully mobilize farmers' enthusiasm for planting mulberry and raising silkworms.

Up to now, the plant has realized output value of 6 million yuan, absorbed 80 social labor force employment, and also introduced Sichuan Tong Shi Da biotechnology products Co., Ltd. to buy silkworm eggs 630 tons, and sericultural farmers realized an additional income of 630 thousand yuan.

It is gratifying to note that in late October last year, Ningnan County Party committee and county government conducted many field visits and negotiations with the China silk road holding group on sericulture development and industrial chain extension, and worked together to develop superior resources of sericulture, speeding up the pformation of industry to deep processing, finishing and Gao Fu value added, and signed a framework agreement on cocoon silk industry cooperation.

Looking forward to 12th Five-Year, the challenge of sericulture in Ningnan is accompanied by opportunities.

The sericulture of Ningnan will take the way of accelerating the economic development as the main line, and seize the three opportunities of the new round of the western development, the construction of Baihe Tan Hydropower Station and the provincial Party committee and the provincial government. With the speed of "ten thousand acres per year and five acres of fifty thousand Mu" at the end of 12th Five-Year, we will ensure the completion of the construction of high-quality mulberry fields at 150 thousand mu in the end of the year 12th Five-Year, laying a solid foundation for the long-term goal of 300 thousand cocoons.

At the same time, we should give full play to the advantages of sericulture and build 400 thousand base cocoon production and processing bases, and form an integrated and intensive processing pattern of cocoon, silk, silk, pupa, silkworm excrement and mulberry branches. We will gradually build 2 billion grade cocoon silk industrial clusters and build Ningnan into an industrial base for cocoon silk production in the upper reaches of Jinsha River.
