    In the production process of spunbonded nonwovens, special additives or finishing can be added to make the products have the functions of flame retardancy, antistatic, radiation protection, hydrophobic and moisture conducting, antibacterial and thermal insulation.


    In the development of new fibers, water-soluble nonwovens are a kind of new type of nonwovens.

    The spunlaced fabric produced by polyvinyl alcohol water-soluble fiber is a good material for making radiation protection and pollution prevention garments.

    A new type of cotton fiber composite nonwovens has been developed in the United States. The surface layer is thermally bonded fabric of cotton and polypropylene fiber. It consists of two or three layers of composite material with spunbonded fabric. The handle of the product is similar to that of pure cotton knitted fabric. It has good strength and elongation, water absorption and water retention, fast suction speed and little pilling performance.

    After finishing, the instantaneous elastic recovery rate of the material reaches 50% to 83% to 93% when it is stretched. It is suitable for making medical isolation clothing and disposable underwear.

    In addition, the new generation of biochemical protective clothing developed by the US military makes full use of the advantages of three kinds of fabrics woven, knitted and nonwoven. The outer layer of the protective clothing is tearing nylon / cotton fiber poplin. After water repellent treatment, the lining is made of non-woven fabric with activated carbon, and the most inside layer is tricot warp knitted fabric.

    Compared with the existing protective clothing, the clothing provides special chemical protection for soldiers, and at the same time, it also increases the lightness of clothing and reduces the cost, which can withstand at least 3 times of washing.

    In recent years, the research in this field focuses on how to improve the drapability, abrasion resistance, resilience and resilience of nonwovens, making it suitable for the requirements of durable fabric.


    The joint venture of BBAFiberweb and DowChemical has developed a new type of spunbond elastic nonwovens, which is made of two kinds of core fibers. The core layer is an elastic body. The cortex is a polymer with excellent elongation. By adjusting the different proportions of the two components of the core, the spunbonded fabric has good elasticity, low elastic modulus, and high strength and dimensional stability. It provides the possibility for making durable clothing.


    Japan cola and domestic enterprises are jointly developing superfine fiber spunbond nonwovens, using soluble resin Excevaltm and PP or PE, PA and other composite spinning.

    Excevaltm is soluble in water below 90 degrees, and can also be biodegradable. It absorbs water and is hydrophilic. It has thermal adhesion with PP (or PE and PA) and is very easy to mesh.

    This spunbonded fabric has much better water absorbability than the conventional spunbonded fabric. Although its surface density is small, its strength can still be comparable to that of traditional spunbonded fabric, so it is a good material for durable clothing.
