She said that the stylist might join in giving a different suggestion, and might even change the designer's view of something.

Not all designers are willing to accept the stylist's advice, but many designers think that the role of a stylist is "very important," she said.

The designer may think that a garment is suitable for this type, but the stylist may match it with another completely different garment, creating a unique style to attract a completely different audience.

Michael Macko, Menswear stylist, said the designers were particularly willing to take the role of stylists.
