After completion of the relevant legislative procedures, the regulation is scheduled to be implemented in May 20th.
A spokesman for the Hongkong trade and Industry Department said that the relaxation measures fit the latest development of the global textile trade environment and the local textile industry, and believed that it could bring convenience to the industry in the import and export of textiles.
The regulations on import and export of textiles involved in sensitive markets will continue to safeguard the legitimate interests of Hongkong's textile trade.
