Vietnam Exported 19.5% U.S. Textile Products In January 2011

The bilateral trade volume between the United States and Vietnam has grown significantly in recent years. In 2010, bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to 19 billion US dollars, up 20% from the previous 2009 years.

FranciscoSanchez has led a delegation to Hu Zhiming city on 5-6 April this year, and pferred to Hanoi on 7-8 to promote educational exchanges between the two countries.

FranciscoSanchez will meet with Vietnamese government officials, business representatives, university professors and university students to promote exchanges between the two trade relations.

The Commerce Department announced that bilateral trade between Vietnam and the United States in January this year amounted to $1 billion 716 million, representing a growth of 301 million 300 thousand US dollars (equivalent to 21.3%) over the same period last year.

In January this year, the United States imported $1 billion 380 million of goods from Vietnam, up 19.53% from the same period last year.

In addition, the United States exported 334 million 600 thousand goods to Vietnam in January this year, up 29.16% from the same period last year.

Vietnam's exports to the United States in January this year were mainly textiles, with an export value of US $548 million 800 thousand, growing by 19.5%, followed by footwear, with an export value of US $170 million 900 thousand, growth of 24%, followed by wood products, with an export amount of US $158 million 600 thousand.

The main products exported to Vietnam are fiber, machinery, equipment and accessories, steel and so on.
