In 2007, the Organizing Committee held the first "cross-strait college student sports shoes design competition", becoming a platform for outstanding designers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The brand effect of the shoe Fair has been held successively, so that more and more Taiwan shoe factories and shoemaking enterprises are pouring into Jinjiang.

There are quite a number of enterprises and traders who open factories or set up offices, such as concavo convex, Bai Yuan and so on. The famous enterprises of Taiwan shoe leather machinery production are settled in Quanzhou, forming strong matching with Jinjiang shoe leather manufacturers.

In January this year, with the full implementation of the Cross Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), a new era of cross-strait economic cooperation was opened.

Professor Lin Jianfu of the Department of economics, National Taiwan University believes that ECFA has created an opportunity for the two sides to jointly upgrade their industries and jointly develop space for industrial development. A total of 806 products across the Straits can receive tariff relief.

Against this background, the shoe Fair held in Jinjiang has become the focus of attention of both sides of the Strait.
