    Industry experts believe that once the carbon label is opened, there will be two effects: on the one hand, there will be an invisible consumption orientation, that is, the products with low carbon emissions will be more popular with consumers. This will form a psychological barrier, and on the other hand, it will also generate carbon tariffs.

    When the developed countries implement the carbon footprint standards and regulations into a mature stage, they will inevitably lead to a higher threshold for products entering the country with high carbon emissions. For example, when carbon emissions exceed the local stipulated value, they will be fined or high tariffs will be added.

    Carbon labelling is the precondition of levying carbon tariffs.

      


    At present, the international organization for Standardization (ISO) is also developing the product carbon footprint standard ISO14067, which includes two parts: quantification / computation and communication / identification.

    The draft has been completed and is scheduled to be released this year.

    Some experts say that once the ISO carbon footprint standard is launched, it will provide a unified standard in the international scope for the calculation of carbon emissions in the whole life cycle of products.

    At that time, the pace of carbon labelling in the European Union and the world will be faster and faster.

    As countries around the world pay more and more attention to low-carbon economy, carbon labels are likely to turn from a sign of public welfare to an international pass for commodities. A new round of trade competition and trade barriers will start.
