No Growth In Global Yarn And Fabric Production In The 4 Quarter Of 2010
The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) released the fourth quarter 2010 trade status report.
In the fourth quarter of 2010, textile production ceased from a strong recovery in the first quarter of 2009, and there was no growth in yarn production and fabric production slowed down.
Fourth quarter global yarn production decreased compared with the previous quarter, of which South America, North America and Asia reduced production, while European production increased significantly.

World yarn production decreased by 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2010 compared with the previous quarter.
South America, North America and Asia decreased by 8.5%, 4.1% and 1.1% respectively, while European yarn production increased by 12.7%.
Compared with the fourth quarter of last year, production in all regions increased.

Output surged by 16.8%, followed by North America (10.2%), Asia (4.4%) and Europe (2.2%).
Meanwhile, the total output of cloth in the fourth quarter of 2010 continued to grow by 0.3%.
Among them, North America (-8.5%), South America (-7.5%), but Europe increased (7.7%) and Asia increased (0.5%).
Global fabric production increased by 7.4% over the same period last year.
But North America decreased by 1.3%, and output in all other regions increased: South America fabric production increased by 15.1%, Asia grew by 7.2%, and Europe grew by 5.5%.
World yarn inventory dropped 3.2% in the fourth quarter of 2010.
South America dropped by 26.7%, and Europe almost unchanged, down by 0.2% and Asia by 0.1%.
World yarn inventories rose by 4.8% over the same period last year, as inventories in South America surged 56.9%, Asia grew 12.8%, but Europe slightly reduced by 0.5%.
In the 4 quarter of 2010, fabric inventories increased by 1.1%, while North America, Europe and Asia increased by 2.5%, 1.4% and 1.1% respectively.
Compared with the 4 quarter of last year, global fabric inventories increased by 3.5%, and inventories in all regions increased, North America increased by 7.3%, South America increased by 4.7%, Europe increased by 2.9%, and Asia increased by 2.7%.

Increased by 7.7% and 1.1% respectively.
European yarn orders increased by 0.9% over the same period last year, while Brazil yarn orders decreased by 7.5%.
Orders for fabrics in Brazil and Europe were reduced by 8.7% and 1.5% respectively.
Orders for fabrics in Brazil and Europe increased by 25.2% and 0.8% respectively over the same period.
