Shanghai Has Concentrated More Than 10000 Pieces Of Unqualified High-End Imported Garments.

According to the latest statistics from the inspection and quarantine department, from 2011 to May, the Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau carried out inspection and Quarantine on the 11575 batch of imported garments valued at 228 million US dollars. As of June 10th, a total of 178 batches of unqualified goods were identified and confirmed that they needed to be destroyed or returned. The main unqualified safety and health items were color fastness, pH value, azo dyes, formaldehyde and fiber components. The main products of unqualified products were: Korea, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Spain, India, Turkey, Bangladesh, etc.

According to incomplete statistics, Shanghai port has imported more than 3 tons of garments annually, accounting for more than 40% of China's total imports.

As an important port for import garments, Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau has conducted a thorough investigation and supervision of imported garments since 2005.

But the failure rate of imported garments has been above 20%.

In an interview, the people said that since January 1st this year, since the new inspection and supervision of textile and clothing was put into practice in January 1st, the Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau has launched six inspection and supervision measures in the light of the actual conditions of the area. It has been comprehensively controlled at Shanghai airport, Wusong, Waigaoqiao, Yangshan and other airports and harbors, and the statutory inspection and supervision of imported garments are carried out.

These measures include requiring importers to provide qualified declarations consistent with China's mandatory technical specifications, focusing on strengthening the inspection and supervision of safety, health, environmental protection and anti fraud projects; taking measures to ensure that the labels and labels of goods entering the circulation area conform to the requirements of China's mandatory technical regulations; adopt different supervision methods for products with different import countries and different risks; establish enterprise archives, grasp the information of importers and the flow of goods; and destroy or retreat products that are not in conformity with the mandatory technical specifications of the state.

The relevant persons of Shanghai entry exit inspection and quarantine bureau indicated that they would strictly keep the country's doors and block the unqualified products outside the country's doors.
