The 2011 China consumer market strategy, jointly published by the American Chamber of Commerce and Bosch Company in Shanghai, shows that 93% of the surveyed Chinese enterprises have implemented or have planned to launch online shopping or mobile shopping, and this proportion is only 60% in foreign-funded enterprises, with a difference of 30 percentage points between them.

The consumption market faced by Chinese local enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises is also quite different from the past. Xu Jin, director of Shanghai Representative Office of Bosch Company, believes that the demand of Chinese consumers for goods and services rises with the increase of income. If local enterprises want to remain competitive in the changing consumer market, they must pay more attention to quality, brand and service.
The same principle applies to foreign-funded enterprises, which means that the market competition between Chinese local enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises will become more intense.
It is understood that in the 2011 Chinese consumer market strategy, a total of 135 enterprises were surveyed, including 3/4 of foreign-funded enterprises in China and 1/4 of local enterprises in China.
These companies involve consumer goods sales, manufacturing, health care and other industries.
