Xia Lingmin: "White List Management System" Will Greatly Promote The International Influence Of Textile And Clothing Industry.

In recent years, the issue of product safety has been widely concerned by consumers.

In the dyestuffs used for textile dyeing, aromatic amines as part of the dye intermediates are regarded as unsafe substances in many countries, so hundreds of azo dyes containing this substance have been banned.

China's GB18401 is also specific.

Japan is the second largest country in the Chinese textile export market next to the United States. In order to avoid increasing the cost of export enterprises due to the batch by product inspection, the China Textile Industry Association and the Japanese Fiber Industry Alliance have reached a consensus on the implementation of the standard after more than a year of repeated consultations. That is, through the cooperation between the two sides, a "white list management system" will be established to provide consumers with safe and assured textile products without the need of batch testing of textiles, so as to reduce the cost of related enterprises and ensure Sino Japanese textiles.

Enterprises that get the "white list qualification" can be recognized by Japanese importers who enter the system. When their products are exported to Japan, they do not need to detect specific azo dyes, which not only reduces the export cost of enterprises, but also enables enterprises to get more business opportunities.

The cooperation between China Textile Industry Association and Japan fiber industry alliance is based on three principles: first, to ensure the smooth trade between China and Japan; the two is that the management system such as qualification certification does not increase the cost of enterprises; the three is to take care of the concerns of Japanese consumers on textile safety.

We hope to promote the implementation of GB18401 and other domestic standards with this opportunity to cooperate with the Japanese Fiber Industry Alliance.

The national basic safety technical specification for textile products (GB18401 – 2003) formulated by China has clearly defined specific azo dyes.

The "white list management system" has a great impetus to further improve the quality and level of domestic textiles and enhance the international image and influence of China's textile and garment industry.

At the same time, with the improvement of people's consumption consciousness, green health, low carbon and environmental protection have increasingly become the focus of trade friction between countries. Under such social background, domestic textile enterprises should consciously strengthen self-discipline and shoulder more social responsibilities.
