It is a public full-time college and the only female college in Guangdong province.

The college's predecessor is Guangdong women's cadre school and Guangdong women's Polytechnic School. It has a history of thirty years.

The Institute is located in Panyu District, Guangzhou, east of the Lotus Hill scenic area, west near city bridge, metro line four, stone base station located at the west gate of the college, only a ten minute drive from Guangzhou University Town, and many bus routes in the city pass through the college gate.
