Renovating the stadium before and after the 2004 suspension

The document, marked "urgent", pointed out that in recent years, ignoring the notice of the general office of the State Council on the suspension of new golf courses in 2004 (hereinafter referred to as the "notice") and the relevant document requirements of the State Council, illegal construction has been made in some places in recent years.

In order to protect arable land and woodland resources, we must resolutely curb illegal construction of golf courses. With the approval of the State Council, we will carry out comprehensive cleaning and renovation of golf courses throughout the country.

The object of this regulation includes: the golf course which was not built according to the regulations, such as the project approval, planning, land use and environmental impact assessment before the notice was issued (before 2004); the golf course started after the notice was issued.

According to statistics from the golf education and research center of Beijing Forestry University, as of May this year, there were about 600 golf courses in the country, and the number was 170 when the ban was issued in 2004.

This means that more than 400 courts are clearing and renovating.

In Beijing, there were fewer than 20 golf courses in 2004, and now there are more than 70 golf courses.
