The Government Of Pakistan Announced The Cancellation Of Some Import Tariffs On Polyethylene And Polypropylene

The Federal Tax Commission of Pakistan (FBR) announced the cancellation of some of the production of single filament and mesh cloth.

FBR also amended the first and second articles according to SRO 811 (I) / 2009, allowing these products to enter the domestic market without tariff.

However, the premise is that the producers have been officially registered and equipped with indoor production facilities to provide net cloth for greenhouse agricultural production with zero sales tax.

The circular stipulates that in order to take advantage of this tax exemption policy, importers and producers must submit a declaration form for declaration of goods and provide specific information on imported raw materials for customs clearance.

After proper verification, the customs declaration will be correct, and the customs director will release the imported raw materials, but only after receiving the preferential statutory sales tax and the tariff differential promissory note.

Only one port or dry port allows such imports to be cleared.

The port will maintain a centralized record of temporary or final certificate allocation.

The notice even pointed out that producers and importers should report to the consumer tax authorities and customs tax collection agencies after 60 days of consumption of imported means of production.

After receiving such confirmation, a tax collecting institution will issue or cancel a promissory note charged as a mortgage.

If the import date is not consumed within one year from the date of import, the importer must pay.

The extension can not exceed 90 days, and the reasons for extension can be cited to the General Administration of customs.
