Import Volume Of Cotton And Fabric Fibers Increased In The First Half Of Vietnam
According to statistics from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Vietnam's imports amounted to about $8 billion 200 million in June (2011), a 5.2% decline from May, but 16% over the same period last year.

In addition, the import volume of most major imports increased in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year, including imports of machinery and equipment and its spare parts, US $6 billion 900 million, growth of 10.9%, oil imports of US $5 billion 500 million, growth of 67.6%, fabric imports of US $3 billion 400 million, growth of 38.1%, iron and steel imports 3 billion US dollars, growth of 7%, imports of computers, electronic products and parts, 2 billion 700 million US dollars, growth 23.2%, plastic imports 2 billion 300 million dollars, growth growth, textile garments and footwear. Raw material import 1 billion 500 million US dollars, growth 20.8%, chemicals import $1 billion 300 million, growth 34.8%, automobile imports $1 billion 500 million, growth 16% (including vehicle imports 593 million dollars, growth 45.9%).
The main source of imports was China, with an import value of US $11 billion, up 20.5% over the same period last year, followed by the ASEAN 10 billion 300 million US dollars, growing 36.1%, and another 5 billion 900 million US dollars from Korea, growing 41%.
