    1. how did you become a knitwear designer? What brought you to GRI?

Joanne Walsh: I always have a dream to become a designer. When I was little, my grandmother would dress my sister and me. After high school, I found that I could hardly find the clothes that I really liked. Then I began to design my own clothes.

Since I was living in Massachusetts, I was longing for New York, and I was longing to be there.

After graduating from New York State University Fashion Technology Institute, I worked in NEEDLEWORKS, specializing in the design and production process of knitwear. In 2000, I joined the GRI group and was responsible for the design of all knitting products of EQ:IQ and Joan & David.

I like the international platform that GRI brings to me. In the ten years of work, I have received many surprises.

2., what makes you enjoy the fashion design career so much?

Joanne Walsh: in my design career, what I enjoy most is the pleasure that innovation brings to me. As a knitwear designer, I need to design the fabric itself and create unique fabrics. I can make the knitted fabric very frivolous and heavy, and I can make different styles with different knitting methods. This kind of work is more artistic and creative.

    3. what kind of cloth do you like best in this season's design?

Joanne Walsh: in the EQ:iQ 2011 autumn and winter series, we emphasized the practicality of cloth. The warm black wool long vest has good thermal insulation. In addition, we added the inkjet elements to the fabric in this season. At first glance, you may think that this is a sweater, but it is a silk knitted dress with a knitted pattern.

    4. when people put on your knitwear, how do you feel about them?

Joanne Walsh: I think for a fashion designer, the best thing is that the clothes you design can change the mood of others. When people feel bad mood, they will choose a clothes that makes them look better, so that their mood will become better. I am very happy because my work can bring happiness to others.

EQ:IQ's brand is a manifestation of life style. EQ represents a more emotional and more unique style of clothing. IQ is more intelligent and more suitable for work wear.

    5. what are your interesting suggestions about the trend of the 2011 autumn and winter?

Joanne Walsh: the most important trend in autumn and winter this year is to mix and match the weight and thickness. As I mentioned before, the wool long vest (my favorite single product this season), you can mix it with a silk dress, of course, you can mix it with long or short knitted fabrics with other garments.

    6. apart from fashion design, what is your favorite thing to do?

Joanne Walsh: I like traveling, music, and I like to go to museums whenever I have time. Of course, my favorite thing is cooking, enjoying food with friends and spending weekends happily. It's the happiest thing for me.

    7. are these hobbies of tourism, music and art inspiring the design of this season?

Joanne Walsh: of course, for example, if I go to a concert, maybe a singer I love will bring inspiration to my design.

For example, if I go to the museum to attend the art exhibition, the color of a painting may give me inspiration, and even the qualities of the painter will have a profound impact on my design.

    8. what is your favorite designer?

Joanne Walsh: I like Belgian designer, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten of Antwerp Six Gentlemen, Japanese designer Yamamoto Teruji (Yohji Yamamoto), they are more like artists, and I also like Pringle knitwear designer.

    9. this season, you like that single product most, and give us a brief introduction of some methods of Mashup.

Joanne Walsh: what I love most in this season is knitted sweaters, because they are easy to mix with other products.

You can use jeans or a stockings to match a long knitted sweater. If you prefer the avant-garde style, you can choose a pair of shorts and match it. Of course, you can also use a silk dress with a long wool vest. My favorite is a black cashmere skirt. If you only use a silk stockings, you can present the classic Look.

By the weekend, you can use jeans to match with you, so you can go out with your family and enjoy your leisure time with ease.

Standard & Poor'S Downgraded 3A Sovereign Credit Rating To AA+

S & P pointed out that the downgrade is mainly due to the debt ceiling agreement reached between the US government and Congress, which lacks the measures expected by S & P to maintain medium-term debt stability. Meanwhile, S & P maintained the US short-term sovereign credit rating "A-1+" unchanged, and the rating outlook was negative.
