Zhang Shaogai's knitting company signed a 500 ton cotton import agreement with a India cotton trader in June this year, a total of 3050 packages.

In August, when the first 1500 bales of cotton shipped to Zhang Shaogai textile company were just opened, it was found that they were not the same as those imported before: they had more impurities, poor color, uneven cotton fibers, short length and poor strength.

Zhang Shaogai immediately imported the raw cotton to the laboratory of Dezhou inspection and quarantine department for testing.

Soon, the inspection results of Dezhou inspection and quarantine department came out: the batches of cotton contained a lot of special impurities such as feathers, yarn, hair, chemical fiber and cloth, and the proportion of foreign fibers accounted for 20%.

Dezhou city inspection and Quarantine Bureau has issued quality certificates for external claims.

In the inspection, 38 batches of short fibers were added, amounting to 16 thousand tons, the value of goods was 51 million 750 thousand US dollars, and the weight of doped goods accounted for 11.1% of the weight of imported cotton in India.

Of the 38 batches of imported cotton samples collected in India, 20 batches of samples were over 10%, of which the highest and even more than 70% were doped samples.

According to statistics, last year, the Shanghai inspection and Quarantine Bureau detected 703 batches of imported cotton with unqualified weight, and the batch failed rate was 82.6%.

In Qingdao, the largest cotton import port in Huangdao bonded port area, the quality of imported cotton is getting worse.

The source of imported cotton at Huangdao port is more than 30 countries including India, the United States, Brazil, Cameroon and Pakistan. The annual inspection of imported cotton accounts for more than 50% of the country's total cotton imports.

In 2010, the Huangdao inspection and Quarantine Bureau intercepted more than 100 batches of all kinds of harmful organisms imported from the country, and the unqualified rate of short weight reached 82.2%.

Facing fierce influx into China

The reporter learned from the Shandong entry exit quarantine inspection bureau that in order to help enterprises avoid the risk of cotton quality and confirm traders' credit, the province has implemented credit collection management for registered and unregistered overseas cotton enterprises.

The Shandong provincial inspection and Quarantine Bureau also announced the registration list and credit rating of overseas cotton enterprises in a timely manner, and put forward import risk warning for the poor reputable suppliers.

Shandong entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau also suggested importing cotton enterprises. "We need to further enhance our awareness of self-protection and establish a risk prevention system.
