Import tax rate is too high?

Wang Yi believes that at present, a major obstacle to the expansion of imports is in the consumer goods sector, especially in the middle and high-end consumer goods tax field.

"In 2010, the value added tax and consumption tax of imported goods accounted for 29.5% of the central fiscal revenue.

High tariffs on consumer goods have had an impact on the expansion of imports. "

Statistics show that the time required for China to import goods from start to finish is 24 days, while Singapore, Hongkong and the United States only need 4 to 5 days. Germany and Britain only need 6 to 7 days, and most Japan only needs 11 days.

Qi Xiaozhai, director of Shanghai commercial economy research center, for example, many food products abroad have a shelf life of one year. After being tested by pportation, customs, food and other management departments in China, they sell them on domestic counters, and the shelf life is usually over half a year.
