    Mr. Islam, executive director of RTM, said, "we are asking the government about this problem. If we get government approval, we will conduct an investigation. From the government's point of view, there is no problem of child labour in the formal and organized clothing industry in Bangladesh.


    He explained: "if we get government approval, we will conduct a direct investigation to find out the social and economic background and whether there are child labor or forced labor in the production of Bangladesh clothing."


    He said: "we will also investigate informal clothing enterprises. If we find any child labor or forced labor, our goal will be to find out what causes informal enterprises to employ child labor, and Bangladesh does not lack adult workers. Our survey will be based on several parameters, including wage differentials. "


    The garment industry is the main foreign exchange industry in Bangladesh. There are about 5000 garment and garment manufacturing enterprises in the country, with nearly 4 million employees, of whom about 80% are women.
