Cobbler Leather Shoes Contain Toxic Dyes Affecting Health.

Guangdong quality and Technology Supervision Bureau recently surveyed 721 households in the province.

Leather shoes products were sampled in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Shantou, Shanwei and other 9 cities, 148 enterprises produced leather shoes, leather sandals, casual shoes, 220 batches, after inspection, 203 batches of qualified, product sampling batch.

Spot checks found that women's leather shoes produced by Shenzhen San Po Industrial Co., Ltd. were found to exceed the standard of free formaldehyde. The leather of women's clothing produced by Guangzhou City cobbler Shijia shoes and general merchandise Co., Ltd. contained over standard decomposable aromatic amine dyes (also known as azo).

Quality supervision department pointed out that excessive products may affect human health.

Quality supervision departments revealed that the main reasons for the failure were: first, the production of shoes or glue production failed; two, the footwear production enterprises were restricted by the quality of inspection equipment and personnel, and the quality of shoes and glue was not strictly controlled; three, the single index of leather and glue was combined, and the production combined the two, so that the content of free formaldehyde and decomposition of harmful aromatic amine was greatly improved.

We also sampled 70 batches of knitted underwear products produced by 68 enterprises in 8 regions of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Dongguan, Shantou and Jieyang.

After inspection, 43 batches were qualified, the pass rate was 61.4%, only 5 batches of unqualified products were identified, and the qualified rate of products was 68.6%.

Decomposable aromatic amine dyes

Decomposition of aromatic amine dyes, that is, carcinogenic aromatic amine synthesis, is a toxic and harmful dye to human body, and long-term contact with the human body, can cause human lesions and induce cancer, incubation period of up to 20 years.
