In China, the textile industry was once the largest industrial sector in the industrial city of Shanghai. It was described as the "mother industry" of Shanghai. From the birth of new China in the first century to the 80s, it had always been the first pillar industry in Shanghai, and its output value and profits and taxes accounted for 1/3 and 1/4 of the Shanghai industry respectively.

But since 1992, Shanghai's textile industry has grown significantly.

The above phenomenon seems to have confirmed the fact that the textile industry is setting sun.

However, there is another data showing an opposite result: from 1980 to the present 30 years, the textile industry has not declined, and it has ushered in another development climax: the total number of global fiber processing increased from about 30000000 tons to about 70000000 tons, more than doubled.

Moreover, this high growth period will continue.

According to UN forecasts, by 2050, the total amount of global textile fiber processing will reach 2.53 billion tons, which will increase by nearly 3 times than that of the current about 70000000 tons.

Why is this contradiction occurring? In fact, the reason is very simple. The textile industry is actually a big concept, besides the clothing material, it also includes industrial textiles and so on.

In recent decades, the textile industry has seen the decline of the Western Hills and the rise of the textile industry. It is precisely because of the rapid pulling of industrial textiles.

Industrial textiles refer to textiles that are needed in agriculture, construction, automobile, medical and health, national defense, aerospace and other fields.

They are characterized by high strength, super high strength, high modulus, low modulus, high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, low resistance, high insulation and high energy particles.

For example, in the aerospace field, astronauts wearing outdoors spacesuit, the lowest temperature on the sun facing to the sun is 185 degrees, and the maximum temperature on the side of the sun is 160 degrees below zero. The high performance fiber varieties that have been developed into industrialization in China include: UHMWPE, high strength and high modulus polyethylene fiber, poly (two phenyl) benzoyl phenyl amine two amine fiber, poly (para phenyl) two formyl benzyl two amine fiber and so on.

At the same time, the world's high-performance fibers are being developed and industrialized: ultra high strength carbon fibers, silicon carbide fibers, polyfluorinated fibers, poly (phenylene benzoxazine) two oxazole fibers and so on.

With the increasing obscurity of fiber names, its technological content and application scope have been greatly improved.

The United Nations predicts that the world steel material processing volume will drop to 50 in 1980, and the reduction in volume will be replaced by fiber reinforced composites in 2050.

Although this prediction is not good news for the steel industry, which is also a "sunset industry", it has further increased the imagination of the textile industry.

Since 11th Five-Year, the state has implemented tax cuts and financial subsidies for R & D of high-end fibers.

Among the seven strategic emerging industries identified by the state, high-end fiber is an important part of the new material industry.

This year, high-end fiber has entered the "12th Five-Year plan" of chemical industry and the textile "12th Five-Year" plan.

High end fiber has become the intersection of the three major plans of the country, which shows its importance.

At present, China's dependence on high-end fiber imports is quite high, and some important products even exceed 95.

If this short board can not be quickly and effectively compensated, it will greatly drag down the development of other industries.

The traditional concept of textile industry, the "old bottle", has been installed in the "new wine" of high-end fiber.
