A Visit To The Weaving Technology Of Xinjiang Jiashi In The Past Century

If you describe the silk brocade in southern China with beautiful and charming, then I would like to use plain and simple analogy to describe the weaving skills of southern Xinjiang.

Weaving is also the tradition of Southern Xinjiang.

    Weaving

The skill of the Uighurs is flowing with the strong and exquisite personality, dancing in the hands of the drum, wielding on the strings, the day is the cultivator of the land, and the night is shuttling in the fibers, taking the body temperature of the noon sun and the moon's eyes, creating a dream like pastoral.

Whenever I go to South Xinjiang for business, I always like to explore some local handicraft markets, which fascinate me with the colors of ethnic minorities in southern Xinjiang.

And I always try to "wash" some exotic handicrafts and take the trouble to bring them home.

Of all the handicrafts, what I like most is cloth art products, especially those old fashioned fabrics, such as embroidery, spinning and weaving, because these handicrafts are the ancient folk culture factors in southern Xinjiang, which make people feel the warmth of folk culture.

Weaving machine khaki, khaki, khaki ringing, time shuttle in the shuttle, an inch inch woven into the bright and beautiful fabric, tux wood sand that the shuttle's hands from bright to become "elm skin" in general.

Tuerxun Musha, 73 years old, is what I want.

    visit

A hundred years of weaving technology in Jiashi.

Tuerxun Musha's home is in the town of kirzle Bo Yi, Jiashi county. The front door of the small courtyard looks quietly at the green fields. The white winding farm roads are lined with towering white poplars, and the wind blows, and the top of the poplar trees emit a sound like a silver bell.

Far away, I saw several children throwing sandbags at the door.

When the door came to the door, the laughter of the children stopped, but there was still a naughty smile on the face.

"Who do you want to talk to, please?" a little girl opened the door.

She is Tuerxun Musha's 13 year old granddaughter Gu Lina Azee.

    "Grandpa."

"Grandpa must be sitting in front of the loom."

Gu Lina Azee ran into the house. His little hand knocked on Grandpa's back. Grandpa turned his head. A ruddy face reflected the warm sunshine of Jiashi.

From the small cottage of less than 20 square meters, there is a uniform and neat appearance of the Uygur family in the southern Xinjiang.

The door is directly on the living room, and is also the "weaving workshop" of Tuerxun Musha's old man.

In the spacious room, a pedal spinning wheel is in the center.

A wooden spinning wheel can't find a screw up and down.

This is an old fashioned loom made by the old man a few years ago, with the memory of the old loom years ago intact.

The old man said that when he was only ten years old, he taught him to start weaving on such a woven car. As a kind of inheritance, the old man quickly copied one when his memory was good.

It can be seen that weaving technology has been handed down for hundreds of years only in Tuerxun Musha's family.

If you describe the silk brocade in southern China with beautiful and charming, then I would like to use plain and simple analogy to describe the weaving skills of southern Xinjiang.

The same is weaving. The traditional weaving techniques of the southern Xinjiang River are flowing with Uygur people's tough and exquisite personality. They dance in the hands of the drum, waving their hands on the strings, while the day is the cultivator of the land, but the night is still there.

    fibre

The middle shuttle, with the body temperature of the noon sun and the vision of the moon, creates a dream like garden.

According to records, cotton appeared in Xinjiang for at least 1300 years. Experts from the Han Dynasty Nyagu's site unearthed cotton, judging from the east coast of Africa along the ancient Silk Road, the first place to enter China is the southern part of Xinjiang, and then spread to the eastern part of Xinjiang.

The Tarim Basin is characterized by soft soil, abundant river water, little rain, and large temperature difference between day and night. It is very good for cotton cultivation and large area planting. The spinning and weaving is most popular since then.

Even "Datang Xiyu Ji" also describes: the "industrial textile towing silk" in Yutian country, producing "white cloth".

The old man said he could not buy a piece of cloth when he was young, not only because the pace of industrial civilization was far away from the village at that time, but also because the poor farmers here.

Therefore, almost everyone here has looms and household weaving.

In nineteenth Century, every village in Jiashi county had several specialized households in weaving processing. Most of the cotton products produced were popular with the masses and used widely.

After the process of weaving, spinning, turning, winding, warp, printing, weaving and weaving, the homemade dyes were mixed with block printing or stamping and printing.

Whether it is white cloth or printed cloth, it is indispensable to people's daily life. Because according to the Uygur tradition, the place where everyone's eyes can be seen in the house must be carefully decorated, and the durability and simplicity of the homespun is the main reason that has been respected by the southern Xinjiang people for thousands of years.

The old man pointed at the white loop.

    lining

That is to say, it is woven by oneself, and through any corner of the village, it is bound to find old people wearing clothes woven by old weaving machines. Most of them are patched up with patches, and even can not see clearly what color they are. But the old people can't wait to wear them forever, because the clothes are condensed with a year and a dedication to the years.

Since the old man has copied the loom, the cloth has not been sold out again. The cloth on the furniture, the kitchen rags, the towing mop and so on are all woven by this machine.

His son's daughter-in-law and daughter's son-in-law also began to love this loom, and from time to time they removed one or two pieces of their own fabric.

Tuerxun Musha is the only representative of the national intangible cultural heritage in Jiashi. Tuerxun Musha can enjoy a living allowance of 8000 yuan a year.

Now in Jiashi County, Tuerxun Musha has become a treasure.

In order to let the old man inherit the weaving skills, he built a special studio for him.

Maimaiti Tulahun is a young man who often comes to studios.

In front of me, the old man is teaching this life with his hands.

Tuerxun Musha sat in front of the loom and his hands and feet tacit together. He sat quietly in front of the loom and handed his shuttle skillfully, and the cotton cloth was stacked up and down.

Under the guidance of the old man, I stepped forward to hold the loom, pedal the foot and hold the wooden shuttle, and came back and forth. The weaving machine crunch, and a layer of cotton thread was folded on the satin.

The old man said to me, "as long as someone comes to school, I will teach him to study weaving."

The weaving skill that lasted for more than 100 years in the family is the most delighted thing for Tuerxun Musha if he can keep it.
