Macao's Clothing And Clothing Consumption Index Increased By 3.24% In November
In November 2011, the composite consumer price index (112.56) increased by 6.65% year on year. The increase was mainly driven by rising prices of outgoing meals, clothing and gasoline.
In the twelve months ended November 2011, the composite consumer price index increased by 5.57% over the previous period, while the CPI of category A and B increased by 5.24% and 5.75% respectively. Compared with November 2010, the most obvious categories of goods and services were food and non-alcoholic beverages (+10.44%), miscellaneous goods and services (+9.58%), transportation (+7.34%) and clothing * (+6.83%), mainly the prices of fresh pork, fresh fish, vegetables, men and women's garments, gasoline and gold ornaments, and eating out.
On the other hand, the price index of communications fell by 14.07% per annualized year. In November 2011, the CPI of category A (111.71) and class B (112.93) increased by 6.47% and 6.82% respectively.
In November 2011, the composite consumer price index increased by 0.39% on a monthly basis. The price index of clothing has increased by 3.24% because of the winter ready-made garments, and the price of gasoline has fallen, causing the price of traffic.
In November 2011, the CPI of category A and B increased by 0.35% and 0.41% respectively. In the first eleven months of 2011, the composite consumer price index increased by 5.71% over the same period in 2010, while the category A and B consumer price indices recorded an increase of 5.39% and 5.90% respectively.

The CPI represents about 50% of households, with an average monthly expenditure of between 6000 and 18999 yuan, while the class B consumer price index represents about 30% households. The average monthly expenditure is between 19000 and 34999 yuan in Macao.
