According to Zhang Baoying, director of the collection office of migrant workers museum exhibits, the largest collection of the more than 5000 exhibits currently collected is a few shoe making machines donated by a shoemaking factory in Baiyun District in the 80s of last century, which originated in Taiwan.

According to introducing, these shoemaking machines include shoe shoemaking, nail punching machine, small punch press and a retiring shoe production line.

The reporter learned that the shoe machine was introduced into the shoe factory in 1993 as a second-hand equipment, because the shoe making machinery in Guangdong was very scarce at that time, so the price was very high.

At that time, the factory bought a second-hand machine from other factories because it could not afford to buy it, so it was very historic.

With the gradual expansion of production, two years later, the factory bought a new nail maker which originated from Taiwan, and pushed the original nail manufacturing technology from manual operation to semi mechanization.

The machinery produced in Taiwan at that time spent a total of 600 thousand yuan.

Zhang Baoying said that since May, the collection of exhibits has entered a new stage. The focus of the work will be pferred from the extensive collection in the early stage to the key collection of large-scale exhibits, key exhibits, and non collection exhibits.

The exhibitors will also focus on combing the collected exhibits, and invite experts to evaluate and identify the exhibits according to the requirements of the exhibition design, and strengthen the work links with the exhibition related units, and put forward suggestions for the exhibition. At the same time, special collections of some exhibits will be launched according to the needs of the exhibition.

According to the design, the Museum of migrant workers will be divided into 3 chapters, namely, the history of Guangzhou's trading, the migration of millions of migrant workers to Guangdong, and the production and learning life of migrant workers in Guangdong Province.

In addition, the exhibition hall will also set up migrant workers' interactive area and temporary exhibition hall to display all kinds of works created by migrant workers' friends.

Zhang Baoying pointed out that in the chapter of the production and learning life of migrant workers in Guangdong Province, it will also use 6 migrant workers' stories to show their experience of employment, entrepreneurship, rights protection and skills upgrading in Guangdong, as well as the life stories of left behind children and two generation migrant workers.
