According to a recent survey conducted by cha Shan, as of the end of 2011, there were 576 enterprises in the textile and garment industry and its supporting industries in Cha Shan town, with a total number of 48 thousand employees, 281 million total garments (sets), and 5 billion 423 million yuan of total industrial output value. In the first quarter of this year, compared with the same period last year, the total output value of the garment industry in the whole town was about 1 billion 509 million yuan, a decrease of 3.59%, and the number of employees decreased by 11.11%. The total assets amounted to 1 billion 342 million yuan, up 9.89%, and the export value was about 568 million yuan, up 4.06%.

Feng Dehu, vice president of China clothing association, said that from the feedback data, most of the indicators of production and operation of tea mountain clothing enterprises showed a downward trend compared with the same period last year. They are generally affected by factors such as the international market downturn, raw material price fluctuations, capital shortage and recruitment difficulties, indicating that the development of the clothing industry is still facing a grim situation. However, it is gratifying to note that two indicators of export delivery and total assets have increased, indicating that tea mountain enterprises have achieved good results by introducing new technology and equipment to carry out technological transformation and innovation.
