Textile Exports In Pakistan Have Been On A Downward Trend.

Mr. Jawed Bilwani, chairman of the clothing Forum (PAF), said that in the 2011-12 months of July, the number of textile exports in Pakistan decreased by 22.3%, and the amount of exports decreased by 9.6%.

In contrast, in the 2010-11 months of July -4, textile exports amounted to US $11 billion 219 million. In the current financial year, Pakistan's textile exports were 10 billion 143 million rupees.

Mr. Bilwani said that the reduction in textile exports was due to the continued rise in utility prices and the power outage.

The sharp fluctuation in yarn prices is another reason for the high production costs and the decline in exports.
