East Shoe Moves Westward, Chongzhou Wants To Become Wenzhou Shoe Production Base.

"Moving east shoes to the west" has gradually become the inevitable trend of China's footwear industry gradient pfer.

In order to achieve the smooth docking of industrial radiation, the afternoon of the day before yesterday, Chongzhou, Sichuan, specially held the "Chongzhou shoe industry promotion conference" in Wenzhou, invited Wenzhou counterparts to invest and develop.

Fan Yi, Secretary of the Chongzhou municipal Party committee, told reporters that Wenzhou famous shoemaking enterprises such as Kangnai group, JEDA shoes, DESAY group and so on have already set foot in Chongzhou to prepare for the construction of the western production base.

According to reports, Chongzhou is a satellite city in Chengdu, located in the 20 minute traffic circle of Chengdu.

Shoe industry is one of the three pillar industries in Chongzhou.

In 2005, Chengdu was recognized as "the capital of Chinese women's shoes" by the National Federation of light industries and the China Leather Association. As the Chongzhou's shoe production base, Chongzhou was named "the production base of China's women's shoes city".

A document issued by the Chongzhou municipal government on 2006 showed that the city planned 6000 mu of land for the construction of the "production base of China's women's shoes city" in the industrial concentrated development zone, which was completed in 5-10 years.

One phase of the plan is 4600 mu of land, more than 200 enterprises are introduced in 3-5 years, and the annual output value of footwear products is more than 60 million pairs.

Guo Jianping, deputy secretary and mayor of Chongzhou Municipal Committee, said on the same day that as of the end of 2007, 218 shoe and leather enterprises had been invested in Chongzhou, including Wenzhou's Kangnai, Jill, DESAY group, and Chengdu's local brands of three points and beauty spots. "In 4 years, the output value of Chongzhou's footwear industry will reach 10 billion yuan."

At the same day, Wenzhou enterprises, such as the ultra Mai shoe industry, the far step shoe industry, the sunshine investment company, signed the "Wenzhou Industrial Park" project with the relevant departments of Chongzhou.

Xie Rongfang, Secretary General of Wenzhou shoe leather association, inspecting Chengdu in 2006, said that with the upgrading of Wenzhou shoe industry and the expansion of brand influence, Chengdu's Wuhou, Chongzhou and other places with complementary industrial characteristics have become an important processing base for Wenzhou shoes.

It is estimated that in Chengdu, there are about 200 shoe manufacturers in Wenzhou, and the annual purchase amount may exceed 5 billion yuan.
