The textile industry standardization institute, which is based on CTTC, is the Secretariat unit of the national textile Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC209), the basic standard sub committee (SAC/TC209/SC1) and the industrial textiles branch (SAC/TC209/SC7). It is responsible for the national standardization of textile technology. It is also the chairman of the international standardization organization Textile Technology Committee (ISO/TC38) and the domestic counterparts, ISO/TC38/SC2 and ISO/TC38/SC23 International Secretariat unit.

A great deal of fruitful work has been done in developing textile standards and testing technology, developing standard materials for textile experiments, and laying a solid foundation for China to stride across "technical barriers" in the international trade of textile and clothing and comprehensively enhance the competitive power of China's textile and apparel in the international market.

CTTC, with the help of the platform for Standardization Research of textile industry, takes the concept of advanced standards as the core, promotes the development of the industry as the core, pays attention to consumer safety as the focal point, and actively adopts international standards, so as to integrate the basic standards such as terminology and testing methods in the textile field with the international practice.

Through solid basic research, the testing and product standards of functional textile products and industrial textiles are formulated. In recent years, the Standardization Research Institute of textile industry has shifted from the study of durability textile performance standards to the standard research of textile safety index and comfort index.

Through undertaking relevant national research projects, we have formulated a series of national standards for testing harmful substances in textiles, providing strong support and guarantee for expanding the import and export of textiles and garments in China.

The two international standard proposals submitted to ISO by the national standard of China for the determination of o-phthalic acid two carboxylate in textiles have been recognized by the member states.

National textile products quality supervision and Inspection Center

Innovative testing service mode

The national textile quality supervision and inspection center, which is based on CTTC, is an independent third party fair inspection laboratory accredited by the State Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and the national certification and accreditation supervision commission (CNCA) and authorized by the China National Accreditation Committee for conformity assessment (CNAS).

The center group was built in 1985, and is the first national quality supervision and inspection institution for textile and apparel.

After years of accumulation, the national textile product quality supervision and inspection center has authorized more than 570 items, ranking the first in China. The testing range covers almost all textile products, from fiber, filament and yarn to fabric, clothing, toys and leather fur products; from home textiles, textiles to industrial textiles; from routine performance to special functional, from international standards to domestic standards.

For a long time, CTTC has made great progress in the combination of textile testing methods and textile production frontiers through the correct interpretation of the standards, taking the advantages of the Chinese Academy of textile science as a technological support and making use of the standard formulation and revision.

We are keeping up with international trends and leading the domestic advanced level in opening up new testing and service projects.

Especially in the new material and new product testing items, we have carried out a comprehensive basic research, and purchased advanced equipment at home and abroad, making CTTC's testing in functional textiles, industrial textiles and textiles safety and health has always been in the leading position in China.
