The number of exports was 1 million 361 thousand tons, down 7.3%; exports amounted to 4 billion 920 million US dollars, down 13.1%; the average export price was 3.61 US dollars / kg, down 6.24%.

The import volume was 830 thousand tons, an increase of 25.9%, and the import amount was 2 billion 980 million US dollars, an increase of 12.5%.

In May, except for the decrease in the number of wool animal yarn exports, the export of other yarns increased at different ranges. Cotton yarn grew by 35.1% over the same period last year, and the number of silk and synthetic yarn exports increased by 4.2% and 14.8% over the same period last year.

Kampuchea and Burma exported 330 million, 35 million and 27 million US dollars, an increase of 53.3%, 16.4% and 23.5%. Vietnam and Kampuchea exported 61.5% and 52.8% respectively in May, and 2.8% in Burma.

Exports to Indonesia and Malaysia increased by 12.8% and 44.4% in May.

Exports of Hongkong yarn to US $1 billion 80 million decreased by 13.8%.

In May, exports to Hongkong in the single month amounted to US $250 million, an increase of 5%.

In the 1-5 months of 2012, exports to North America increased significantly, with an export volume of US $220 million, an increase of 8.8%.

The European Union and Latin America fell by 19.5% and 19.6% respectively.
