Fashion Designer Simon Christopher Waller
Simplicity
,
Cool type
I have been deeply loved.
In the early days, when online shopping was not so developed, JNBY and Izzue were the most frequently visited.
The family gathered all kinds of short, long sweaters with black, grey and somewhat irregular tailoring.
Both my parents and my boyfriend did not like me to wear that, without a feminine taste.
So far, I still like some of the early years of JNBY and Izzue design, but as I grow older, irregularly dragged, I can't cope with the need for work.
At present, most of them are black and white.
A tailored suit, no plain necktie sweater and any windbreaker.
The most important is material.
As for women, they are trying to match women's high-heeled shoes.
Recently, I received letters from Christopher Waller, a women's clothing brand from London, who shared their 2012 autumn and winter Lookbook.
It is almost the same with all the demands of low-key, introverted, and stylish female office workers.
The style is simple, neutral, a little cool, but also feminine.
Color is also black and white.
Basically, the style is real wear, which can be worn from 30 to 40 years old.
On the material, there are silk shirts, middle skirts, leather soft fitting coats, digital prints, lace, enough to satisfy people who have certain requirements for quality.
What I love most in this Lookbook is leather soft satin, medium skirt and silky men's jacket.
In fact,
Chritopher Waller
The style is quite different from the London designer I imagined.
So mail also went to interview designer Simon Christopher Waller herself.
After seeing his answer to my question, I have a clearer understanding of its brand style and location inspiration.
At the same time, the dialogue about design is also inspiring for my upcoming design study.
The following is an interview:
Q1: why do you decide to become a fashion designer?
Simon: this is quite accidental.
In London, if you want to get a design degree, you need to start a basic art course at the beginning.
After that, I want to study graphic design.
But one year later, my work was more like fashion, so I decided to learn fashion design.
Q2: what do you think when you start writing?
Simon: is hard to describe clearly the specific feelings.
There are many stages in the process of creation, so there are always many different or even contradictory ideas in mind.
But it can be said that the whole creative process is full of excitement, and you will be looking forward to the final result.
My design sketch never seems to be like the final draft.
Each completed work will be modified 3-4 times each time.
But this is very exciting.
What is Q3: wearing Christopher Waller brand?
Female sex
?
Simon: she wears Christopher Waller clothes, which is very attractive, mature, confident and comfortable.
This maturity can stimulate an introverted self-confidence.
Beautiful and confident, so that my customers are very attractive.
She knows luxury goods well, but not for excessive consumption.
Q4: even in University, have you always kept this simple design?
Simon: when I was in University, I studied the design of men's wear, which also deeply affected the simple and neutral style of Christopher Waller.
But I think it is unwise to stick to or accept only one style at university.
The two basic points of design are constantly changing.
The first is technology, which means how high your experiment can be.
You can try all kinds of techniques, and do not need to stick to a style.
The second is taste.
My taste changed greatly with the new things I saw and designed.
Looking back at my design a few months ago is a great thing. I think I will make a little change next time to make it better.
This is the charm of design and development.
If you stick to a design, you will lose a lot in the end.
Q5: what's your favorite designer brand?
Simon: Celine, Maison Martin Margiela and Helmut Lang..
Q6: do you have any suggestions for young people who want to be independent designers and have their own brands?
Simon: don't spend too much money on your mind before you know what you can get.
When you want to implement your ideas, write a business plan to define your market position and where the design will profit from.
If you are serious and serious about your ideas, you will complete a business plan.
Will the Q7: christtopher Waller brand continue to adhere to this principle in London?
Simon: we will stick to it.
We usually purchase fabrics in February and September of Paris in February and we also purchase from PV.
Basically, it depends on where we can find the most suitable fabric.
Most of our fabrics come from Italy.
The factory is in London, so that we can make quality control easier and make timely changes.
I think if our output increases, we may need to produce some of the designs overseas.
At present, London production will continue. After all, "London production" is also a brand advantage.
Q8: how do you describe your 2012 autumn and winter series? What is your favorite product?
Simon: my favorite season is leather dress, pullover and windbreaker.
The brand's London boyish chic style is interpreted by the combination of leather upholstery coats, digital prints, sportswear and lace.
Beautiful silk, Italy wool and Japanese lace are also excellent in this season.
And use black and white and industrial colors in large quantities.
Q9: the inspiration for the 2012 autumn and winter series?
Simon: in this season, I have worked with a young British actress, Sophie Wu.
The style and appearance of Sophie perfectly match this brand, and it is easy to echo the original inspiration of this season, Jean Seberg's interpretation of French film.
Working with actresses like Sophie enriches the quality of design.
This is very exciting for me. I will continue to cooperate with creative people outside the fashion circle.
How does Q10: buy your design in China?
Simon: we provide customized services to any customers who deliver our needs through our website.
Since all our production is located in the UK, we will complete the production within 4 weeks after receiving the order.
At present, we do not have any distribution channels in China, but for any order from China, we will be very happy to provide free delivery service.
At present, customized services can be implemented in AW11 and SS12 series, and AW12 series will start accepting orders later this year.
