Although the total amount of textile and apparel industry in Chaonan district is large, there are many brand enterprises, but most of them belong to labor-intensive enterprises. With the accelerating process of global economic integration and the new situation of textile industry competition turning to industrial chain competition, the textile industry in Chaonan district is facing the bottleneck restriction of weak regional competitiveness and lack of influence. Especially due to imperfect land index, government public service system and logistics business, enterprises are unable to effectively rely on the government's industrial platform to enhance competition and expand the impact.

In view of the existing problems, the area revolves around the goal of "innovation driven, pformation and development", and constructs a benign mechanism to promote the pformation and upgrading of textile and garment industry and develop rapidly with government guidance service as the means and enterprise as the carrier.

The China Textile Industry Federation marketing department, China Textile Information Center and Chaonan district government will jointly organize the Chaonan underwear household clothing festival in from September 26th to 28th this year, and vigorously promote the optimization strategy of home furnishing industry in 2012.

Chaonan District of Shantou is the main production base of textile and clothing in Guangdong and even in the mainland of China.

At present, 11 towns (streets) in the area, 8 towns (streets) have 2792 textile and garment enterprises. In 2011, the value of textile and clothing production reached 32 billion yuan, and the export volume was 446 million 520 thousand US dollars. Among them, there were 16 enterprises with sales income exceeding 100 million yuan.

In China's domestic clothing brand products, the number of household clothing brands in Shantou ranks first in the same industry, and famous brand products account for more than 75% of the total national total.

In the first half of this year, in the severe situation of Guangdong's foreign trade facing a sharp decline, Shantou Chaonan home furnishing clothing remained stable development trend.
