Austrian Clothing Retail Industry Grew
According to the statistical quick report released by the Austrian Federal Bureau of Statistics, the turnover of the Austrian retail industry (excluding automobile sales) in the first six months of 2012 has increased by about 3.0% compared with the same period (name) in 2011. After deducting inflation factors, the actual growth is 0.8%.
The Bureau of Statistics said that there were 150 "business days" in this statistical period, one more day than the same period last year, so the retail industry performance in the first half of this year was actually flat.
According to the analysis of the Bureau of Statistics, "food retail industry" (including food, beverage, etc.) performed better in the retail industry in the current period. Its turnover grew by 4.8%, and after deducting the inflation factor, its real growth was about 1.9%.
In terms of "non food" retail industry, there was a total growth of 2.7% in name, while the actual revenue growth was about 1.2% higher than the same period last year.

In the sports equipment retail industry, the nominal revenue increased by about 6.3%, with an actual growth of 5.6%;
The furniture retail industry grew by 5.4% in name and 3.3% in real terms;
The footwear retail industry grew by 3.7%, but declined by 3.4% in real terms;
For retail of consumer electronic products, the nominal revenue increased by about 2.2%, but after excluding inflation factors, it was converted into actual growth, which increased to 2.6%;
Clothes & Accessories The situation in retail is similar, with the nominal growth of 1.3%, but the actual revenue growth of 1.8%;
As for book retail, due to the influence of more and more e-book readers and mobile terminals, the category declined by about 1.7% and the real revenue decreased by about 0.9%.
