Indonesian Footwear Exports Reached US $1 Billion 779 Million In The First Half Of This Year.
According to the Ministry of trade, the export volume of Indonesian footwear reached US $1 billion 779 million in the first half of this year (about 16 trillion and 850 billion shields), up 9.9% over the same period last year.
Recently, EddyWidjanarko, President of the Indonesian Footwear Association (Aprisindo), said in Jakarta that the growth is not as expected, and that it should increase 20-30%.
"The consumption of shoes products is growing and investment is also very good, but if the increase is only 10% and others say it is very good, I don't know what to say. It turns out that's not good."

"It is lazy to say that it is necessary to return, but because of the fact that the import tax is deducted from all kinds of expenses, it is no longer complete, so there is a problem."
At present, the government is trying to eliminate regulatory barriers to promote the development of domestic footwear industry, for example, it will facilitate the import of leather materials, so that it will not be too long in the inspection.
Meanwhile, Addie added that by the end of the year, Indonesia's national footwear exports could reach US $3 billion 600 million (about 34 trillion and 110 billion shields), an increase of 9% over the 3 billion 300 million US dollars last year (31 trillion and 270 billion shield).
The association once expected that if there was no crisis in the US and Europe, exports could reach 4 billion US dollars or 21% growth this year.
He confirmed that although the traditional market, such as the slowdown in the US and Europe, has no negative impact on China's footwear industry, the exclusive trademark manufacturers in these two regions are still placing regular orders. Meanwhile, China's footwear manufacturers are also strengthening new and potential markets, namely, the United Arab Emirates, Dubai (Dubai) and all the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Indonesian shoe manufacturers also increased their business opportunities in exporting to Brazil so that they could get rid of the charge of illegally exporting shoes to Brazil. The decision was promulgated by the Ministry of Commerce of the Brazil (Decdom) after the anti-dumping investigation was stopped in June 18, 2012.
Ai Nawal Siti, director of trade security at the Ministry of trade, said that in the investigation procedure, Brazil did not find any dumping activities carried out by our footwear manufacturers.
"We welcome the decision."
China's enterprises accused by the Ministry of Commerce of Brazil, namely, the 8 companies of Nike (Nike) group and the 8 companies of Adidas (Adidas) group.
"All the alleged enterprises in our country show a very cooperative attitude, and even 5 of them are spot checks."
After getting rid of the dumping charges, the Indonesian footwear industry has a great opportunity to expand its market share in Brazil, and even to other Latin American regions. At present, the United States, the European Union and Japan are still the main destinations of footwear export in China.
