Dong Jinshi, an environmental protection expert, told reporters that the formaldehyde content of Class A products could not exceed 20 mg per kg, while the upper limits of formaldehyde content of Class B and C products were 75 mg and 300 mg per kg, respectively. In terms of PH value, water resistance, sweat resistance, saliva resistance and other color fastness, the requirements of Grade A products are also stricter than those of Grade B and C.

In addition, compared with the previous old standards, the new national standard has expanded the age coverage of infant textiles "infants" from 0 to 24 months to 0 to 36 months, that is, children's clothing under 3 years of age must meet the requirements of Class A standard for infants, and "infant supplies" should be noted on the clothing tag.

The standard also requires that from August 1, the production, sale and import of textile products that do not meet the new standard are prohibited. This means that children's textile products for 24-36 months that previously only needed to meet the B or C standards cannot be sold after August 1.

He reminded that when parents choose clothes, they should first observe the labels and make sure that there are words such as "baby products, Class A, GB184012010", and at the same time, they should also pay attention to whether there are manufacturers, factory names and addresses, composition content of materials, executive standards and other contents on the labels.
