Different yarn twisting processes produce different yarns and produce different product characteristics.
Strength
Yarn strength depends on the cohesion and friction between fibers.
If the fiber morphology and its arrangement are bad, such as bending, beating, folding, winding and other fibers, it is equivalent to shortening the length of the fiber and weakening the contact degree of the fibers, resulting in the slipping of fibers.

The test shows that if the strength of ring yarn is 1, the strength of other kinds of yarns is 0.8 to 0.9 of rotor yarn, 0.6 to 0.7 of air-jet yarn, 0.8 of vortex yarn, and the highest strength of compact spinning is 1.15.
Mao Yu
The handle and characteristics of textile products are mainly determined by hairiness.
From the production test, it can be clearly seen that the hairiness less than 2mm has little effect on the production process and the appearance and quality inspection of the fabric, but on the contrary, the fabric has a natural soft feel.
However, the hairiness over 3mm is a potential factor affecting yarn quality.
Compared with traditional ring yarns, the 1 to 2mm Mao Yu of airflow yarn, vortex yarn and compact yarn have been reduced. However, because of the low number of filament winding and the less twisting core, the air-jet yarn has more short hairs. Of course, in the spinning process, the number of Mao Yu can be controlled by adjusting the technological parameters.
Fig. 3 compares the yarn hairiness of different spinning methods.
Compared with traditional ring yarns, the number of harmful hairiness (>3mm) of non-traditional spinning decreased significantly, of which the compact yarn was reduced by 80%, the air-jet yarn was reduced by 85%, and the vortex spinning decreased by more than 90%, so the new yarn had good post-processing characteristics.
Because the new yarn structure makes the surface of the yarn more stable, the increase of post processing hairiness is significantly lower than that of the traditional yarn.
Especially when used as warp yarn, it can save about 50% of the size when sizing, greatly improve the loom efficiency and reduce the weaving cost.
Data show that in the United States, the use of new yarn per 100m cloth can result in a reduction of 2.4 US dollars and a 72% decrease in flying flowers.

Because the fibers of traditional ring yarns are mostly spiral, when the friction is repeated, the helix fibers gradually become axial fibers, and the yarns are easily twisted and disintegrated quickly, so the wear resistance is poor.
Non conventional spinning has obvious advantages in wear resistance. Rotor spun yarn, air-jet yarn and vortex yarn are made up of two parts: yarn core and outer fiber. Irregular yarn is wrapped on the yarn, yarn is not easy to disintegrate, and the yarn surface friction coefficient is large. The yarn and yarn in the fabric are well connected, and it is not easy to produce relative slip, so the wear resistance is improved.
Compared with the ring yarns, the fibers of compact spinning are arranged orderly and straight, the yarn structure is compact, and the fibers are not easily dispersed, so the yarn has good wear resistance.

Characteristic
It also determines some characteristics of the fabric, such as the oblique way of the knitted fabric.
Traditional ring yarns and compact yarns are really twisted yarn. They have large twisting and easy to produce oblique and curling edges of knitted fabrics. Sometimes they need to be used to compensate for them.
The yarn structure of rotor spun yarn, air-jet yarn and vortex yarn determines its small twist.
Rotor spun yarn Z twist and S twist exist at the same time, so the twisting potential is the lowest. Because of the high proportion of parallel fibers in jet yarn, the twisting force is small, and also has good post-processing characteristics.
