At present, the production of high performance fiber in China covers almost all kinds of fields, and the total production capacity is second only to that of the United States and Japan.

Aramid 1313 and carbon fiber T300 have been commercialization and bulk supply to the market; the industrialization technology of carbon fiber T700 has also been fully opened; the dry UHMWPE fiber of Yizheng chemical fiber has reached the leading domestic and international advanced level when it was put into production.

While making progress, we also point out that there are still many problems in the development of high performance fiber in China.

Xu Jian, a researcher at the Institute of chemical research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that the relatively high speed development of national economy and national defense construction has relatively weak theoretical basis and industrialization foundation for high-performance fibers and composites in China. A series of key scientific and technological problems in the fields of carbon fiber preparation, aramid fiber preparation, efficient preparation and extensive application of composite materials have not yet been completely broken through.

Zhang Dingjin, chairman of China Composite Materials Group Co., expressed concern about some enterprises' blind investment in carbon fiber.

He said that blind investment not only causes the waste of capital and resources, but also leads to irrational competition, which makes enterprises fall into a loss situation.

In view of the problems in the development of high performance fibers, many constructive suggestions were put forward.

Zhang Dingjin thinks that we can establish a win-win mechanism between research institutes and enterprises in the field of small maturity, difficulty and large investment.

For example, under the guidance of China Chemical Fiber Association, a technology advanced carbon fiber demonstration line and laboratory are jointly established by enterprises and research institutes. The demonstration line and laboratory are free to all enterprises in China, and every year is obliged to complete a certain amount of experimental tasks for enterprises.

Hu Xianqi, general manager of Zhejiang Shi Jin Wu Yan Fiber Co., Ltd., suggested that the high technology fiber materials that have been significantly promoted and promoted in the relevant fields of national economy and energy saving and emission reduction, and bring significant social benefits, should be strengthened after applied research and experiments proved.

Some experts suggest that we should establish a defense procurement system as soon as possible, encourage and support the downstream application development of high-performance fibers, especially in the field of military defense and aviation and aerospace, and establish a national defense procurement management system for national key material technology innovation projects.

Professors from Donghua University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Shandong University and Tianjin University also shared their research achievements in the field of high-tech fibers in the forum.
