Industry advantage is obvious that the footwear industry, as a local characteristic industry and pillar industry in Jiangdu, sprouted in the early years of the Han Dynasty. It originated in the early 60s of the last century, and the first batch of technical workers from Jiangdu to Shanghai in the early 90s, flourished in the middle of the last century.

In 1995, with the completion and operation of the Suzhong Trade City, the footwear industry in Jiangdu achieved a leap development for the first time.

By the end of 1996, there were 906 shoemaking enterprises in the city, and at that time there was a saying that "one of every 15 people in China wore Jiangdu shoes".

By the late 90s of last century, due to the long-term production and sale of Shanghai enterprises, with the rise of the footwear industry in Wenzhou, Fujian, Guangdong and other places, the Shanghai market was squeezed, and the Jiangdu footwear industry, which was accustomed to processing, was unable to adapt to the pformation of roles, and the lack of leading enterprises and loud brands had once been in the doldrums.

After entering the twenty-first Century, Jiangdu vigorously implemented the strategy of quality development and brand development, thus making the footwear industry enter the two development.

In recent years, the footwear industry in Jiangdu, relying on the Sino Soviet trading center, has become a major distributing center for leather and footwear production and operation in Jiangsu province.

Peng Jinshan said that there are more than 1500 supporting and manufacturing enterprises in Jiangdu, with an annual output value of 4 billion yuan.

Shoemaking enterprises are also developing towards scale.

Among them, there are 3~4 enterprises that produce more than 1 million pairs of leather shoes each year, and more than 20 enterprises produce more than 500 thousand pairs of leather shoes each year, and more than 30 enterprises produce more than 300 thousand pairs of leather shoes annually.

At present, the footwear industry in Jiangdu has formed 3 obvious development advantages: first, there are many shoemaking talents.

After years of development, Jiangdu has already owned a number of senior craftsmen and senior technicians in footwear design and manufacture, and some large enterprises have also established good cooperative relations with R & D institutions. Shoemaking technology has developed from traditional production to modern production, especially in the design and manufacture of women's shoes.

Two, the development of the industry tends to be standardized.

In 2004, Jiangdu Leather Association was established to strengthen the organization and coordination of the industry. Nearly 200 large enterprises joined the association to offer suggestions for the development of the industry.

Three, the brand effect is gradually emerging.

At present, there are 3 products exempt from inspection in Jiangdu shoemaking enterprises, 3 famous brand products in Jiangsu and 6 famous brand products in Yangzhou. In addition, 19 products produced by the Chinese Leather Association have been awarded the real leather logo.

Peng Jinshan has said that although the footwear industry in Jiangdu has become a dominant industry with potential development, the development of Jiangdu footwear industry is becoming more and more serious in the face of fierce competition at home and abroad. There are mainly three aspects: first, there are not enough scale enterprises.

At present, although there are a number of strong scale shoemaking enterprises and brands in Jiangdu, such as Kaysen, Dali Lao, Liang Fei, Su Qi, and eight weird ones, the small and medium-sized enterprises still have a large proportion in the development of the post shop mode, and the equipment level and technology are not high. The products are mainly medium and low grade, and the brand development consciousness is not strong.

Two, most enterprises need to intensify technological innovation.

That is to say, it is necessary to pform traditional industries with advanced equipment and technology, improve the degree of mechanization of production, change the present production situation mainly by hand, and improve production efficiency and quality grade.

Three, the challenge of new standards is getting higher and higher.

In 2005, on the basis of the original industry standards, China increased the requirements for banned azo dyes, pentachlorophenol, formaldehyde and other human sensitized or harmful substances.

These new projects need to be equipped with high-level talents and sophisticated equipment, and put forward higher requirements for the testing ability of shoemaking enterprises.

At present, most of the shoemaking enterprises in Jiangdu are unable to carry out self inspection of product quality and implement effective monitoring because of technology, equipment, personnel and other reasons, which easily lead to unstable product quality and affect the development of enterprises and even the whole industry.

The four force boosted the development of the shoe industry with both worries and worries. The Jiangdu municipal government has begun to take the initiative.

Third, enhance testing ability.

At present, the Jiangsu quality and Technical Supervision Bureau has agreed to set up the Jiangsu rubber and plastic products quality supervision and inspection center in Jiangdu City, which will greatly enhance the quality inspection ability of local footwear products and provide strong technical support for Jiangdu shoe manufacturers.

Fourth, strive for government support.

We should increase communication with the government, introduce relevant preferential policies as soon as possible, speed up the land expropriation construction of the footwear industrial park, increase the standardization and optimization of the commercial and trade town, and carry out a comprehensive renovation of the shoemaking workshops, so as to promote the healthy and rapid development of the footwear industry in Jiangdu.
